The Department of Biological Sciences offers majors for students who are passionate about the science of living organisms including biology, environmental science, neuroscience, and pre-professional programs such as pre-medicine and pre-pharmacy. Students will have the opportunity to participate in undergraduate research, take interdisciplinary courses, gain valuable hands-on experience through internships, community engagement, and project-based courses, and receive tailored mentoring as you plan your future career.

Ìý Ìý ÌýStudents can start doing research with faculty mentors in their first year at NKU. After your first year, you can earn course credit or find a paid research position. Undergraduate research builds your resume and can lead to great job and grad school opportunities.
Ìý Ìý ÌýThe Department of Biological Sciences has chapters for two national honor societies: Tri-Beta for Biological Sciences and Nu Rho Psi for Neuroscience. The Health Professions Club welcomes students in pre-professional tracks. These are just a few of the opportunities open to all NKU students.
